For the first marking period of the class we used mechanical drawing tools to draw out single views. We started one plate 1 and finished on plate 15. The drawings where very simple at the beginning however the farther into the drawings the more complex and harder they were graded. All of the drawings we drew are of reel life objects such as flooring patters, wrenches, fly wheels, chain links, base plates, cams and gaskets. We learned how to do hand drawing understand the basics and how the old timers completed drawings even thought they are currently not used.
Through out this process we used many drafting tools ranging from tee squares, triangles, compasses, multiple weights of pencils, and all kinds of eraser. The most frustrating tool was the compass because it caused errors that almost ruin a drawing. Therefore on plate ten when we could start to uses templates for circles and lettering I was happy.
